Let’s Get Ready: April Health Care Decisions Month
Our 4th Annual April National Health Care Decisions Month celebration is underway. The Honoring Choices Partners & Friends will shortly receive a “April Celebration Packet” of fun event ideas, MA planning documents and flyers to plan your own activities & events. Our popular "April Calendar of Events" will be posted on the Honoring Choices website by March 15 to promote your events and inspire consumers and care providers to participate in the celebration. Last year the Partners & Friends posted over 55 informative and fun events!
This year, we invite health care providers and community groups to expand your reach into your community. Invite your volunteers to become a Health Care Planning Ambassador to start powerful peer-to-peer care planning discussions with adults in their community, anywhere they live, work and gather.
Honoring Choices is providing free Spring Ambassador Workshops so your Ambassadors can confidently talk with friends, family and everyone in the community about a Health Care Proxy & Personal Directive. Your Ambassadors can also help connect adults to essential care and services to improve healthy living.
Here's how it works: A health care provider or community group select their volunteers or any interested community members to represent your group. Honoring Choices will help you set up an Ambassador Program and supply everything your Ambassadors need to engage adults within their own language, culture and ability. Care providers and their volunteers can attend a free "Partners & Friends Ambassador Workshop" offered in our 6 Community Partner Regions. The "Train-the-Trainer Ambassador Workshops" are offered through our Alliance Partners for their member organizations. There is no cost, but registration is required.
