Raising Awareness About Sepsis: Train-the-Trainer Initiative

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 1.5 million people in the US get sepsis and more than 250,000 die from it each year. Without timely treatment, sepsis can rapidly lead to tissue damage, organ failure and death. It is also a leading cause for hospital re-admissions.

Healthcentric Advisors, an Honoring Choices Alliance Partner, has launched a new Sepsis Awareness Training targeting post-acute care and community providers, who regularly treat and care for populations most vulnerable to sepsis. Honoring Choices is proud to support our Partner in this important initiative and help inform the Honoring Choices Partner Network.

The sepsis training follows a “Train the Trainer” format and covers key information about what sepsis is, signs and symptoms, who is at risk, treatment strategies, post sepsis syndrome, preventative measures, available tools/resources, and more. Participants leave with a toolkit that includes everything they need to train their clinical and nonclinical staff, patient and provider-facing resources, and ongoing support.

To address the need for increased sepsis awareness, Healthcentric Advisors invites you to partner with them to spread this training to your community and networks.  To hear more about this important initiative, contact Alyssa DaCunha at adacunha@healthcentricadvisors.org or 877.904.0057 x3241.
